Hi! I’m Sam, a PhD student at the University of Chicago in the Mazziotti Group. My current research interests include studying the relationship between the 2 particle reduced density matrix (2-RDM) and quantum/topological phase transitions, investigating frustrated quantum spin systems, developing quantum computing algorithms based around the 2-RDM, and messing with sparse matrix math algorithms (this one is more of a hobby).
I am interested in the development of open source software solutions to scientific and mathematical problems (github). I also enjoy nagging my friends about open source software. In the non-nerdy hobby region, I like biking, rock climbing, and baking cakes (no website for this one sadly).
